Minister’s Message 5 October
Dear Friends,
I would like to begin by expressing my gratitude to God for all whose support I have relied on overthe last couple of weeks – for the surgical and nursing team who did such a good job when I was in hospital, for Christine who has kept me from overdoing things, for those of you who have prayed and sent good wishes, for Alex who has covered for my absence and for all those who have led services across the united parish
I am amazed at how smoothly everything has gone and how speedy my initial recovery has been, although I recognise that I will not be back to full fitness for a few weeks more and I will therefore be steadfastly keeping my working week down to 40 hours. Having missed more Sundays in Kinross over the last couple of months than I would have liked, I am looking forward to being back among you over the autumn.
Please keep in your prayers the Nominating Committee as they consider applications for the ministerial vacancy that come in by the closing date this coming Friday. Please also pray for the recruitment process for the youth ministry post that is now almost ready to be launched. This is a significant time in the life of our united parish.
A couple of other things to mention. Firstly to say that all are welcome at Dunblane Cathedral this Sunday evening for a service of praise to mark the visit of the Moderator of the General Assembly to our Presbytery. Please note that as a result our Zoom prayer meeting will be at the earlier time of 5pm this week.
Finally, we are still looking for another couple of hosts for members of the German Brass Band who are giving a concert in Kinross Church on Wednesday 29 October. If you could give two nights' B&B that would be very much appreciated. See details in the intimations or have a word with me for further information.
Every blessing,
Alan
