Who’s Who

Rev Alan D Reid MA BD

Minister

Alan was called to the ministry when he was 15. After studying French and Music at St Andrews, he undertook training at New College, Edinburgh, and served as probationer in the Howe of Fife before being called to Newcastleton in 1989. In 2003 the parish of Canonbie was added to his charge there. Alan was called to Kinross in 2009. Married to Christine since 1991 they have two sons and a collie dog.

Rev Margaret Michie

Ordained Local Minister

At an early age Margaret was involved in youth work in her home church in Motherwell and Summer Mission throughout Scotland.  A move then came to Markinch, then Kinross. A two-year course in Training for Learning and Service led to further studies for Readership and attachment with Kinross Parish Church. Margaret was ordained as a Local Minister in 2013. Margaret is married to Bill and she has four children, 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Interests include music, reading, children and making soup!

Jaffrey Weir

Session Clerk

Jaffrey came to Christ after attending seaside missions run by Scripture Union during family holidays. The seed of our Lord was planted but he endeavoured to ignore it. Jaffrey knew he was always going to marry a daughter of the manse and it was only when he met Kathleen, a daughter of the manse, that he came back to Christ. He joined Kinross Parish Church 30 years ago and then became an Elder, becoming Session Clerk in 2009. Kathleen and Jaffrey have three children and three grandchildren and feel blessed to be part of the Kinross-shire community.

Enid Campbell

Safeguarding Coordinator

As a congregation, we have a duty to ensure A Safe Church for All, protecting children and "adults at risk", aiming to minimise the risk of harm occurring. All our volunteers participating in regulated work with our young people and protected adults have PVG membership through Disclosure Scotland. If you have any concerns, please contact our Safeguarding Coordinator via the church office or The Church of Scotland Safeguarding Dept.

Joanne Ross

Church Office Coordinator

After a move to the area Jo and her family are settling in and looking to be part of the community. She can be found in the garden in the spring and summer and in the colder months in the kitchen adjusting recipes to make healthier cakes and biscuits. A follower of Marie Kondo she likes to organise and tidy, a place for everything and everything in its place. She is looking forward to meeting you all over time and settling into the role of Office Coordinator.
