Minister’s Message 1 February
Dear Friends
I'm delighted to be able to report that the Call to Alex Johnson was signed by 264 members and adherents of the united congregation from Arngask, Cleish, Fossoway, Kinross, Orwell and Portmoak together with 37 papers of concurrence from children and young people in the congregation and from some others associated with the congregation. This Call has now been passed on to the Presbytery of Perth and the Vacancy Procedure Committee is proposing that it be sustained by the Presbytery at its meeting next Saturday morning. The service of Ordination and Induction is planned for Thursday 19 March at 7pm in Kinross Church.
The Presbytery meeting will be live streamed from 10am next Saturday (7 February) if you wish to watch the proceedings. The link is: https://www.youtube.com/live/dGfF2gEAw7o
At that meeting, the Presbytery will also be undertaking the annual review of its Mission Plan. No changes are proposed for our area since the union of congregations and the appointment of a second team minister complete what was envisaged.
This week also the job description for a Pioneer Youth Minister was finally agreed. This post, which will fall under the umbrella of KYTHE but which will work closely with all local churches, will now be advertised so please keep this in your prayers.
The post of priest-in-charge for St James' Dollar and St Paul's Kinross is also currently being advertised so please also be praying for the process in the Episcopal Church to make that appointment.
Although these stipendiary posts will be significant in the work of God's Kingdom locally, the work of the Church is in the hands of each and every one of us playing our part according to the gifts we have all been given by God. Let us therefore each be open to what God is leading us to be and to do in His service in these days.
With all prayerful good wishes.
Alan
