Prayer Points for the Festive Season

Prayer Points for The Coming Weeks

Sunday.  Pray that the preaching of God's Word each Sunday and at special services
may enable all who attend church whether regularly or occasionally, in person or
online, to encounter the Living Word in Jesus Christ, God's Son our Saviour.

Monday.  Ask God to draw near to those who are struggling with ill-health or anxiety
or bereavement to know healing and peace and to enter life in all its fullness.

Tuesday.  Lift your eyes beyond the horizons of this parish and bring before God the
needs of the wider world, especially those facing hunger or homelessness and those
in the midst of war.
Wednesday.  Remember before God the children and young people of our
community that in the midst of the excitement of Christmas they may come to know
Jesus for themselves.

Thursday.  Give thanks to God for His indescribable gift to us of Jesus and pray that
God's Kingdom may be extended throughout the coming year in our own lives, in our
community, across the nation and throughout the world.

Friday. Pray for those who today face persecution for their faith in Christ and ask
God to work in the hearts of their persecutors to bring transformation.

Saturday. Blessed are you, sovereign God, Creator of heaven and earth, to you be
praise and glory forever. As your living Word, eternal in heaven, assumed the frailty
of our mortal flesh, may the light of your love be born in us to fill our hearts with joy as
we sing: Blessed be God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Blessed be God for ever.

Amen
