Prayer Points 25 October

23 Oct 2026

Prayer Points for The Coming Week:

Sunday 25 October.   As Alex and Alan both have a Sunday off, pray for Kathy Dain
and Ewen Gilchrist who will be leading worship today and for all those who have a
part to play in worship – welcoming, reading, praying, leading praise, arranging
flowers, providing technical support and serving refreshments – that God may be
glorified in all things.
Monday 26 October.  As schools go back after the holidays pray that children, staff and
parents will have benefited from the break and be prepared for the opportunities of
the new term.
Tuesday 27 October.   As we look out on a world in conflict, remember those who are
suffering today and pray that God would breathe peace into the hearts of those who
have the power to bring an end to that suffering.
Wednesday 28 October.  Pray for the work of organisations like Christian Aid, Tearfund and
Mission Aviation Fellowship in the practical and spiritual support they bring to the
world’s most vulnerable communities.
Thursday 29 October.  Remember those who are housebound, those who are facing
medical challenges and those who are struggling with loss and bereavement that
each one may know the Lord’s touch and the support of the church family.
Friday 30 October.   Pray for the work of Kinross Centre and of Broke Not Broken in the
support they give to local people and pray for their staff and volunteers in the service
they offer.
Saturday  31 October.   On this National Day of Prayer, join with others across the land in
praying: God of light, you spoke, and there was light. You brought order out of
chaos, hope out of despair, and life out of nothing. Today we come before you in
prayer. Open our eyes to see where your light is already shining. Open our hearts to
receive your light. Open our hands to carry your light. And open our churches and our
communities to the transforming work of your Spirit. May this be a day when hope
grows, when faith is renewed, and when your light shines more brightly in the Church
of Scotland and throughout our communities. In the name of Jesus Christ, the Light of
the World.

Amen
