Prayer Points 18 January
Sunday 18 January. Give thanks for the election of Alex Johnson as team minister in Kinross-shire and pray that as the Call is signed and plans are made for his ordination and induction, that all practical arrangements will run smoothly.
Monday 19 January. Pray for all those who mourn at this time that they may know God's promised comfort and peace.
Tuesday 20 January. Remember before God organisations like Tearfund and Christian Aid in the work they do amongst the most disadvantaged people in our world in the name of Jesus.
Wednesday 21 January. Pray for our sister churches across the Presbytery of Perth and in the wider Church of Scotland as they take up the opportunities for ministry and mission that present themselves in their parishes.
Thursday 22 January. Pray for arrangements to appoint a pioneer youth minister in association with KYTHE and for St Paul's Episcopal Church as they seek a new priest in charge in conjunction with St James' Church in Dollar.
Friday 23 January. Ask God to guide us as a united church as we plan for the coming years, that we may be faithful and fruitful for the sake of God's Kingdom.
Saturday 24 January. God of blazing light, through the power of the cross you shattered our darkness, scattering the fears that bind us and setting us free to live as your children. Give us courage and conviction that we may joyfully turn and follow you into new adventures of faithful service, led by the light that shines through Jesus Christ our Saviour.
