Prayer Points 17 August
Prayers for The Coming Week
Sunday, 17th August: Give thanks for all who contribute to Sunday worship through
music and flowers, in word and action, welcoming and serving, in person and online
and pray that all may play their part to the best of their ability.
Monday, 18th: Remember school pupils, staff and parents today as they prepare for
the start of the new session tomorrow and pray a blessing on all our local schools.
Tuesday, 19th: As school classes begin again after the long summer break, pray for
any who are anxious about today, especially those starting in a new school.
Wednesday, 20th: Ask God to intervene to bring peace in all situations of conflict
around the world and to frustrate the actions of those who are bent on causing
division.
Thursday, 21st: Pray today for those who are suffering because of their faith in
Christ, asking that God will encourage and strengthen them to be faithful disciples.
Friday, 22nd: Seek God's blessing and enabling for all who hold positions of
leadership in church and community and nation.
Saturday, 23rd: Living God, you formed us in the womb and appointed us to be
prophets to the nations. Stretch out your hand to cure our infirmity and dispel our fear,
that we may know the freedom of serving you in Christ and proclaim the wonders you
have done.
