Prayer Points 16 November
Prayers for The Coming Week
Sunday 16 November. Ask God's hand upon all the ministries of our united
congregation and pray that God's Kingdom may be advanced in our parish over the
coming weeks and months.
Monday17 November. We pray for the work of CrossReach, for the different projects across
Scotland, for the staff and volunteers, for those who give generously, for all the lives
that are touched and changed by the light of God's love.
Tuesday 18 November. The Prisoners’ Week prayer: Lord, you offer freedom to all people.
We pray for those who are held in prison. Break the bonds of fear and isolation that
exist. Support with your love: prisoners, their families and friends, prison staff,
chaplains and all who care. Heal those who have been wounded by the activities of
others, especially the victims of crime. Help us to forgive one another, to act justly,
love mercy and walk humbly together with Christ in His strength and in His Spirit now
and every day. Amen.
Wednesday 19 November. Pray for Ruth Jack whose new appointment as Director of Africa
Programmes for MAF is currently taking her on a two-week trip to visit and encourage
staff in Guinea and Liberia in West Africa. Seek God's blessing on all the work of
MAF.
Thursday 20 November. Take time to be still before the Lord and to lift before God the names
of individuals you know to be going through difficult times at the moment.
Friday 21 November. We pray for the Church of Jesus Christ, worldwide and local, shining
light where there is darkness, praying for love where there is hate, peace where there
is turmoil, justice where there is oppression, hope where there is despair.
Saturday 22 November. Holy God, our refuge and strength, you have redeemed your
scattered children, gathering them from all the corners of the earth through your
firstborn, the Christ, in whom all things are held together. Make of us a just and
righteous people, worthy by grace to inherit with him the kingdom of light and peace
where he reigns with you and the Holy Spirit
