Prayer Points 15 February
Prayer Points for The Coming Week:
Sunday15 February. Pray for all who will find their way into church today either
online or in one of the churches that they may have a meaningful encounter with the
living God that will bring them fulfilment in life.
Monday 16 February. Remember before God all those in our community and in the wider
world who are struggling because of material, emotional or spiritual poverty that what
they need may be provided at this time.
Tuesday 17 February. Pray for all who gather at Stepping Stones on a Tuesday morning and
pray that all the conversations that will take place during the gathering will be helpful
and uplifting.
Wednesday 18 February. Today is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. O God, you
delight not in pomp and show, but in a humble and contrite heart. Overturn our love of
worldly possessions and fix our hearts more firmly on you, that, having nothing, we
may yet possess everything, a treasure stored up for us in heaven. Amen.
Thursday 19 February. Pray that the Lent Studies for the United Parish taking place on
Thursday evenings will be an opportunity to get to know new people and to discern
God's leading of us as a congregation in our outreach to the wider community.
Friday 20 February. Pray for Alex and Hazel as they undertake all the practical things
associated with moving house next month and pray that the Manse at Crook of
Devon will soon become home for them.
Saturday 21 February. God of wilderness and water, your Son was baptized and
tempted as we are. Guide us through this season, that we may not avoid struggle,
but open ourselves to blessing, through the cleansing depths of repentance and the
heaven-rending words of the Spirit.
