Prayer Points 10 May
Prayer Points for The Coming Week
Sunday 10 May. At the beginning of Christian Aid Week, we pray: God, you are so good, kind and merciful. Forgive us for the ways in which we have ignored those in need. Be the fire that sets our hearts aflame. Give us compassion and love for what troubles and moves you. Spur us on to help those in need, that they may know you are close to the broken hearted.
Monday 11 May. Continue to pray for peace in the world's conflict zones and for freedom for those who face persecution for their faith.
Tuesday 12 May. Remember before God all who are dealing with illness and those who mourn. Pray that each one may know the healing touch of the Good Shepherd.
Wednesday 13 May. Keep in your prayers all those young people who are sitting exams at the moment at school, college or university that they may give a good account of themselves.
Thursday 14 May. Pray for all who are commissioners to the General Assembly this year, including Brenda F, Rosemary T and Alan Reid from our parish, that they may discern the leading of the Holy Spirit in all the matters that are before them.
Friday 15 May. The General Assembly of the Church of Scotland begins today. Pray for the Moderator Designate, Revd. Gordon Kennedy, as he is installed and as he leads the first full day of business.
Saturday16 May. Risen and ascended Christ, you surround us with witnesses and send us the Counsellor who opens our minds to understand your teaching. Bless us with such grace that our lives may become a blessing for the world now, and in the age to come.
Amen
