Minister’s Message 6 September

04 Sep 2026

Dear Friends
This morning marks the morning after the day before for the folks at Fossoway, who were
busy with the Gathering yesterday. It marks the next all-age service at Orwell, as we explore
the Passover feast together. Plus, it's a Sunday@7 week in Kinross, which is a well-received
gift to so many in this neck of the woods.
However, as well as highlighting this busy weekend, I want to draw your attention to the
weeks ahead. The services for the rest of September are going to include a bit more 'space'
than usual. We are consciously trying to introduce some time spent resting in the presence
of God and exploring how that leads us forwards.
To support this time of listening, the ministry team (Alan, Monica, and myself) are making
time in our diaries to have conversations with anybody that would appreciate talking through
their faith journey, their sense of God, and how that might shape things. Which sounds fancy
but is essentially just an offer of a cup of tea and a chat! If you would value this, please
check the news mailer or the intimations for the details of when we will be where over the
next few weeks.
We are hopeful that this time of listening will yield opportunities for us to take forward as a
parish, but, ultimately, we must entrust this month over to God to speak for himself, in ways
that we might not be able to predict.
All this reflection, we are hoping, will feed into the next meeting of the Eldership on
Wednesday 7th October, and spill out into the official and unofficial mission of this church.

Every blessing
Alex Johnson
