Minister’s Message 30 August

29 Aug 2026

Dear Friends,

The eldership gathering in June was inspired by a presentation we received from two members from Intogether Church, a mission initiative of Perth Presbytery. Intogether is a community of faith for families where there are additional support needs of various kinds. As well as meeting for worship monthly, usually outdoors in the Aberdalgie Church garden, they gather for play sessions for children, parent coffee and chat and a social group for dads as well as offering opportunities for adults to explore faith and foster wellbeing. You can find out more at www.intogether.co.uk - it is a very inspiring initiative.

The Kirk Session has now decided that Intogether should be the first outside mission project we commit ourselves to as a united congregation. We will give regular financial support to its work for at least the next three years and we want to invite members of the congregation to start that off by making an offering during the coming month.

Rev Anne Stott has responded to this commitment by writing: “Your interest and backing are such an encouragement at this early stage of our development. It is very affirming to be recognised and experience such a positive boost from a church that is committed to many other missional activities and projects.”

Because so few people now routinely carry cash we will not be taking a traditional 'retiring offering' in a plate at the church door, but details are given in the Saturday news mailer of how you may make an online donation directly to Intogether. On behalf of the Kirk Session, I commend this to your generosity and encourage those who are taxpayers to Gift Aid your donation.

With all prayerful good wishes,

Alan

Rev Alan Reid
