Minister’s Message 21 September
Dear Friends,
This Sunday, we dedicate the work of the Guild as they serve this community,
giving opportunity for fellowship and the expression of faith. Indeed, this season
of the Guild has started brilliantly, with greater representation from all across our
united parish. The service will be led by Jim Redpath and members of the Guild.
The Guild across Scotland is one of this country's largest voluntary organisations,
offering hospitality and welcome in many parishes. Collectively across the
nation, they are phenomenal fundraisers, having raised £102,189.97 in 2025 to
support the work of the Scottish Bible Society, Bear Necessities, Release
International, and CrossReach.
This Sunday is also the ‘International Day of Peace’, the product of one of the few
unanimous resolutions of the United Nations over the years. Aware as we are of
conflict all across the world, we long for peace. So let me invite you to gather at
The Green in the Crook of Devon at 3pm for a service for peace.
Many of you will be eager to hear how Alan Reid is doing, he sent word on
Wednesday that the surgery had gone well and he has been discharged from
hospital. He will continue to take the time he needs to recover.
Every blessing,
Alex Johnson
