Minister’s Message 20 April
Dear Friends
I write this in the midst of our series of Holy Week services and with the prospect of Easter Day ahead. Although we have for many years as sister congregations in Kinross-shire held joint services in Holy Week, for the first time we are doing it as a united congregation and it feels different.
In these days we come face to face with the very heart of our faith in the suffering, death and rising again of Jesus. The message of hope even in the deepest darkness and of transformation of the most intractable of situations is what we are called to share with our community. May you be encouraged this Easter and enabled to share your faith with others.
This coming week we also take the next significant step as a united congregation as we gather to elect a nominating committee who will bring forward a sole nominee for the second full-time ministry post in the parish.
Please make every effort to attend at Kinross Church on Wednesday 23 April at 7.30pm as we hope it will also give an opportunity for people to get to know others across the united parish. There will be an opportunity to chat to others over refreshments as the votes are being counted. Anyone being nominated will have the opportunity to introduce themselves and say what they would bring to the process. If you have someone in mind who you think would serve well on the nominating committee please speak to them in advance of Wednesday as no-one can be nominated without their permission
This is one of the few occasions when the whole congregation is involved in a significant process so don't miss out. Come along on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, may you know the joy of the resurrection in these days.
With all prayerful good wishes,
Alan
