Minister’s Message 2 August
Dear Friends
Firstly my sincere thanks to you for your kind words, cards, flowers and prayers
over the last few weeks since the death of my mother. The memorial service on
Tuesday in Dunblane Cathedral which was for both my parents (since my father
died when Covid restrictions prevented us holding a public service) was of
course a bitter-sweet occasion, but it gave us to the opportunity to connect with
family and with old friends of my parents. It is providential that I had already
indicated that I would be having a year off Family Week this year as it will give me
a bit of space in the coming week.
However, a good number of you will be involved in Family Week one way or
another and I would like to invite those who (like me) are not directly engaged to
join me in prayer over the coming days for those on the 'front line' that they may
be renewed in strength day by day and that as the children and young people
attend they may see Jesus Himself at work and come to experience the love of
God for themselves.
You will see in the intimations a number of ways in which you can still help – if
you have any garden flowers you could spare please hand them in by 9.30 on
Thursday morning, and if you would be able to offer a meal one evening to our
three Hungarian visitors, please have a word with me.
We will get the whole week off to an uplifting start this morning with our united
morning service in Kinross Church at 10.30am as we celebrate 40 years of this
remarkable outreach in our community. It has always benefitted from being
something that the whole church is behind. Come and raise the rafters in
worship.
