Minister’s Message 13 September

11 Sep 2026

Dear Friends,
Over the next few weeks across the united parish we are going to be taking
some time to listen both to God and to one another as we seek the best way
to fulfil our mission as a church. We will be exploring different ways of
listening for God in Scripture and in silence in our Sunday services and we
will also be having short presentations about aspects of our congregational
life from the Kirk Session Teams on Worship and Discipleship, Fellowship and
Pastoral, Community and Outreach, and Youth and Families with a view to
discerning how we develop our work as a church in the coming months and
years.
Alex, Monica and I will also be making ourselves available to listen
to you and we invite all who would like to chat informally with us to check
the intimations for a slot over the next three weeks that suits you, and come
along either to Orwell, Fossoway or Kinross. This coming week the times
are all in the mornings, next week they will be in the afternoons and the
following week in the evenings. We will chat informally in a group with as
many or as few who come along at the start of each slot but if you would like
to chat one-to-one, please be in touch to make a specific appointment.
Appointments would ideally be at or around one of the planned slots but
other options and venues can be discussed as required. Just turn up
unannounced at one of the slots but get in touch if you would like a specific
appointment. Our contact details are given below and we look forward to
hearing from you.
I hope very much that over the coming weeks we may discern God's leading
as a united church and begin to discover where each of us as individuals
may find our unique place in God's purposes not only within the fellowship
but in the wider world.
With all prayerful good wishes,
Alan
Rev A D Reid
