Voting Guidance for Services on Sunday 11 January
Dear Friends
As you will know, the Nominating Committee has selected Alex Johnson as Sole Nominee to propose to the congregation, to fill the vacancy in our Team Ministry at Kinross‑shire Parish Church and serve as minister alongside Rev Alan Reid.
Services on Sunday 11 January
Alex will conduct public worship in the parish on Sunday 11 January, after which the congregation will be invited to vote on whether to call Alex as minister. Alex will conduct two services:
· Fossoway Church at 9:45am
· Orwell Church at 11:15am
There will be no service in Kinross Church and we warmly encourage everyone who usually worships in Kinross to join with one of our other worshipping communities that morning.
Parking: Please be vigilant when parking near Fossoway or Orwell churches by keeping access routes clear for local residents and emergency vehicles. Please also ensure you do not park too close to junctions or corners. You are encouraged to car-share and to walk-and-stride where possible. For Fossoway, the Crook of Devon Village Hall car park will be available for use (a 10-minute walk to/ from the church). For Orwell Church in Milnathort, please turn left into Manse Road and continue onto Ba’hill when arriving, and exit via North Street when leaving. When parking, please park close to neighbouring vehicles (without leaving unnecessary gaps) so that as many people as possible can park near the church.
Voting in Person
At the close of each service, members and adherents on the Electoral Register will be invited to vote. All votes will then be brought together and counted collectively by our Interim Moderator, Rev Marc Prowe, at Orwell Church. All who wish to attend to hear the vote outcome are invited to do so and refreshments will be provided at Orwell.
Online Voting via Zoom (Fossoway Service only)
Contact Kinross Church Office before 4pm on Friday 9 January for more information, link and codes.
Please make sure ahead of time that you have the Zoom app on your device. The Zoom meeting will be open from 9.15am Sunday. Your name must be on the Electoral Register to be eligible to vote. Regrettably, if you are not eligible to vote, you will not be able to join the Zoom meeting; you will still be able to watch the service on Fossoway's YouTube channel: Fossoway Church - YouTube
Eligibility to Vote
Church of Scotland law dictates that only members and adherents listed on the Electoral Register verified by Presbytery in March 2025 are eligible to vote. If you are not sure if you are eligible to vote, please contact the Church Office office@kinrossparishchurch.org before 4pm on Friday 9 January.
