General Assembly
The General Assembly of the Church of Scotland is currently underway, from Friday 15th to Monday 18th May. This is a new, shorter format designed to save money and to make it easier for those of working age or with family responsibilities to attend.
The new Moderator for 2025-26 is Rev Gordon Kennedy, parish minister of Craiglockhart Parish Church, Edinburgh. The Lord High Commissioner (the King's representative) is Lady Eilish Angiolini for her second year. Rev Alan Reid is not only a 'commissioner' from the Presbytery of Perth but also the Assembly's 'Precentor' this year, leading the singing for the daily worship.
