Minister’s Message 9 March

07 Mar 2025

Dear Friends,

Let me mention a couple of things this week.

Firstly, an intimation will be given this Sunday for the second and final time regarding the Electoral Roll of the united congregation which is being made up. You need to be on the Electoral Roll if you wish to vote to elect a Nominating Committee and to appoint a new minister to the united parish. You also need to be on the roll if you wish to be considered for membership of the Nominating Committee. If you were previously on the Roll of Members or the Roll of Adherents of Kinross Parish Church, you will automatically be included and you need take no action. If you have recently become part of the worshipping congregation in Kinross you either need to arrange to transfer your membership from your previous church or to apply to be recognised as a bona fide adherent of this congregation. You need to act before the Kirk Session meets on Wednesday 19th March to finalise the Electoral Roll. If you are unsure of your status please have a word with me or with Jaffrey Weir or contact the Church Office.

And secondly, you may remember that as part of our development of the church's work among younger people we are moving towards the appointment of some kind of youth minister to work in conjunction with KYTHE and all the local churches. During the last few months there has been a consultation process underway and as part of that we are holding another Open Church meeting in Kinross Church this Sunday afternoon where all voices can be heard. At the meeting there will be a presentation of the research that has been done so far and some of the options that are beginning to emerge. There will be an opportunity for discussion and feedback. The meeting is at 4pm and will be followed by an opportunity for those who wish to stay and share in some food before Sunday@7. You are welcome at any or all parts of the gathering – just come to the presentation and discussion at 4 or just come to worship at 7 if you prefer.

I look forward, as ever, to joining with you in worship on Sunday.

With all prayerful good wishes,

Alan
