‘THE VIEW FROM MY WINDOW’ - Worship Service Sunday 10 May 2020 ( with links to Youtube)

'Or perhaps I should say, the “view from my computer screen'.

Like most of you, I find I am spending a great deal of time in front of the computer these days, but what a wonderful gift it is to help us stay connected. Having arrived shortly before lockdown, I believe I have met more of you these last two months over zoom than in person. Still, I look forward to the days when we will be able to gather again face to face.

This weekend marks the 75th anniversary of VE day. My father, a U.S. Naval officer, was stationed in the Pacific during the war. My mother said that when news broke of the end of war in Europe a renewed sense of hope flourished that soon all the world would be a peace. Our prayers for peace and renewal continue especially through these difficult days of the pandemic. One thing I learned from my parent’s generation was that life is more a marathon than a sprint. Thankfully, this is a race we are running together.  So, as the apostle Paul says, “We press on towards the goal.”

This month Alan and I are exploring our rich history of faith through various encounters with God. We hope these messages will serve as an encouragement and challenge to examine where God is leading you. Please stay in touch and let us know how you are. Together, we are the body of Christ.

In Christ’s Peace,

Rev. Kathleen Dain
Assistant Minister
