BB NEWS: Competitions and Camping

The Anchor Section has been busy with topical themes and activities based around St Patrick, spring, Mothers Day, and Easter.

Company Section members took part in the Battalion Annual Drill Competition, retaining the Major Ralston winners' medal, which dates back to the 19th century.

Juniors participated in the Battalion Festival of Activities Competition at Bankfoot in mid-May which involved figure marching, singing, and potted sports. They have also been learning about various knots useful in rope tying and lashing.

Both Juniors and Company Section members participated in the Battalion Chess competition in May.

Juniors and Company Section members are preparing for the Battalion Bible Quiz, during which they will have to answer a number of questions in order to attain the title of Battalion champions. The Kinross Juniors are the current

holders of the Bible Quiz trophy.

Five members of the Company Section are now working towards their Queen's Badge.

All Sections participated in the Company's Annual Display and Presentation of Awards held on 31 May.

Company Section summer camp will take place from 29 June till 6 July based at Jedburgh in the Scottish Borders. The camp is an outdoor activity-based week featuring hillwalking, mountain biking, kayaking, and other outdoor pursuits and is also open to third-year Junior Section members who are transferring to Company Section in September.

Marquee Hire: Bookings are starting to come in for the coming season. The BB’s marquee is white, 40 foot by 20 foot, and can be hired for £200 including erection and dismantling. Contact Company Captain David Munro 862126.
